Merryday Tarot

I got this on Ebay for $15 (7/00), but it is getting a bit hard to find.  The retail was $24.95, so it wasn't cheap to begin with.  I LOVE the art on these cards, but I am less taken with the design.  It looks like the titles and numbers were added with labels, I find the stark contrast between the white "labels" and black backgrounds distracting.  This deck makes quite a few changes to the traditional Tarot system and titles....Temperance has been changed to the Time Lord, the Hanged Man to the Journeyman, Magician to Apprentice, High Priestess to Oracle, Hierophant to Mentor, Chariot to Student, Wheel of Fortune to Lady Destiny,  the Aces to Dragons and the Pages to Elementals.  I wish I could explain the theory behind this but I can't, as there is no LWB for this deck.  Explanations are limited to one or two keywords on the card.  There is a folded card that basically relists the keywords, plus provides a list of elemental correspondences.  I scanned it too....view it here if you like.  I wish there was a book for this deck....I am lousy at intuitively reading the cards, I need the artists interpretation.  Still, I feel quite sure this deck will see a lot of use in spellwork, ritual and meditation. The cards sure are beautiful.

The back is B&W, not reversible.
Note: I did read that the artist, Louisa Poole is in the process of writing a book....I can't wait!
