Cupid Cards

I bought this set at a used book place in late '99 and never used it till now (Aug. 00).  It seemed too simplistic to me....ok, I was being snobby.  Well right now I'm in relationship hell, no self esteem, broken-hearted, depressed, the whole nine yards.  So I gave it a go.  Well, I had a spot-on, right to the heart of the matter reading, and am now so happy I bought this set.  There are 36 cards in the set, divided into 3 decks, Amethyst, Ruby and Turquoise.  The cards have a collage picture on the front and a poem on the back.  There is also a paragraph fragment on the back, which when you piece together all three is your advice.  The method is as follows: the querent shuffles each deck seperately and in order (A. R. T.), with eyes closed and pictures up.  Then it's as simple as looking at the top card, turning it over and reading the interpertation.

Here is my first reading....keep in mind that I was so depressed and lonely that I was in tears when I pulled these out.

The Worker

Manifests

The Future

Face being alone. Once you stop fearing it and know you can, you may not have to. Strive to...  ...observe how your habitual thoughts affect your life, for good or ill.  Be positive and learn how to... ...expect the unexpected to occur. Be alert for new opportunities to come to you in unusual ways.
Though it may be hard to do
Act like there's no love for you.
Concentrate and do work hard
and learn love's lessons from the cards.
Such independence may attract
the kind of love you think you lack.

You'll manifest your heart's desire:
the love to which you most aspire.
Make sure what's wished for's best for you
for it will soon be coming true.
Real magic's when you concentrate
on what you love, not what you hate.

The angels give a gift to you
--the future--but they can't undo
the fate that you alone make true
when expectations cloud your view.
For even the most perfect plans
need the touch of divine hands.

There is also a book that explains the symbolism on the cards, I found that interesting as well.  I found the artwork to be evocative, I had a good idea what the cards represented before turning them over to read the meanings.  This set is by Amy Zerner and Monte Farber, authors of the Enchanted Tarot, the Zerner-Farber Tarot and the Instant Tarot Reader.  They also did the Karma Cards, which I am now adding to my wish list. I got a great deal on this, I got it for $9 or $10 at a used bookstore, even tho it was still sealed.  It is still available at Amazon.com: Cupid Cards; The Oracle of Love
